Roof collapse claims lives of two children in Kohat

KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Mar, 2026) Two children lost their lives tragically while a woman and another child were injured after a dilapidated house roof suddenly collapsed in the Billi Tang area near Cout Road, Kohat on Monday. Rescue 1122 officials reported that the crumbling roof caved in unexpectedly, trapping a mother and her three children beneath the debris. Meanwhile, rescue teams swiftly reached the scene and launched a hectic operation to pull out the victims from the rubble.

The bodies of two children were recovered from the debris, who had died on the spot, however, the injured woman and one child were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Their condition was stated to be critical but stable, hospital sources said.

Rescue officials noted that the incident appeared to have been caused by the weakened structure of the house, furthermore, authorities have initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances behind the fatal collapse.
