Rs.29b proposed for Lahore Development Program

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2026) The government has proposed allocating Rs.29 billion for the Lahore Development Program (LDP) in the upcoming fiscal year,as part of a broader plan to upgrade civic infrastructure in the provincial capital,here on Monday.

According to official documents,the total volume of the program stands at Rs.137 billion,while expenditures were projected to reach Rs.108 billion by June of the fiscal year.

Sources said that the initiative focuses on improving basic facilities across Lahore,including sewerage systems,roads, streets and street lighting.

Officials added that priority would be given to the completion of ongoing schemes in the next fiscal year to ensure timely delivery of development projects and avoid delays.

The Planning and Development board has submitted the program details to the Chief Minister’s Office.

Funds will be allocated after final approval in the upcoming budget.
