SACM visits central procession, control room, reviews Muharram arrangements

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Jun, 2026) Special Assistant to the Chief Minister (SACM) Punjab for the Inspection Team, Shoaib Mirza, visited the central Muharram procession in Sargodha on Thursday and reviewed security as well as public facilitation arrangements put in place for mourners during Muharram-ul-Haram.

According to the official spokesperson here, the central procession emerged from Shirazi Manzil in Block No. 23, where Mirza was accompanied by Commissioner Sargodha Division Hafiz Shaukat Ali, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Shahzad Asif Khan, Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry and District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Sohaib Ashraf.

During the visit, the Special Assistant inspected the three-tier security plan implemented on the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He reviewed procession routes, entry and exit points, security cordons, deployment of police personnel, walk-through gates and metal detectors installed along the route.

Mirza also examined arrangements made for the convenience of mourners, including drinking water stalls, medical camps, sanitation measures, heat protection facilities, street lighting and contingency power backup systems to ensure uninterrupted services in case of electricity outages.

Later, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry, he visited the Muharram Control Room established at the DC Complex.

He reviewed monitoring arrangements for processions and religious gatherings across the district and received a detailed briefing from officials regarding law and order, security measures and public service facilities being provided to mourners.

Expressing satisfaction over the arrangements, the SACM said all departments were fully mobilized in accordance with the directions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to maintain peace, ensure foolproof security and provide maximum facilities to mourners during Muharram-ul-Haram.

He emphasized that the district administration, police and allied departments were working in close coordination to ensure the peaceful observance of Muharram across Sargodha district.
