Sargodha to launch anti-polio campaign from April 13

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry on Thursday chaired a meeting to review arrangements for the upcoming anti-polio campaign, scheduled to run from April 13 to April 16 across the district.

According to the spokesperson for DC office here, the officials from the Health Department, World Health Organization (WHO), Rotary Club, and other relevant institutions attended the meeting.

During the briefing, it was shared that a target has been set to administer polio drops to 696,942 children during the campaign.

The meeting was briefed that arrangements are being finalized in all 167 union councils of the district. A total of 3,331 teams have been constituted, including 3,036 mobile teams, supported by 206 fixed points and 89 transit points. Additionally, 612 area in-charges will supervise the operation, while 7,235 health workers and volunteers will participate in the drive.

Addressing the participants, the Deputy Commissioner directed authorities to finalize micro-planning, complete training of all teams, and ensure 100 percent coverage in the field.

He stated that no child should be left unvaccinated and instructed teams to conduct door-to-door visits to meet the target.

He further stressed the importance of effective security and monitoring arrangements during the campaign to ensure its success.

The DC also reviewed the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) and directed officials to further strengthen routine vaccination efforts.

He underscored the need for timely immunization of children and called for enhanced awareness campaigns to improve vaccination coverage, warning that any negligence in this regard would not be tolerated.
