Saudi women play frontline role in serving pilgrims at Grand Mosque

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th May, 2026) Saudi women are playing an increasingly prominent role in serving pilgrims at the Grand Mosque during Hajj 1447 AH, contributing to crowd management, guidance, healthcare and volunteer services as part of the Kingdom’s integrated pilgrim-support system.

According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Saudi women continue to demonstrate professionalism and leadership through their active participation in key operational and service sectors serving millions of pilgrims.

The female staff members are undertaking a wide range of responsibilities, including organizing crowd movement, providing field guidance for female pilgrims and visitors, supporting healthcare operations and participating in humanitarian volunteer initiatives.

SPA told APP that the growing presence of Saudi women in the holy sites reflected the success of national programmes aimed at empowering women and expanding their participation in public service sectors.

The trained female personnel remain deployed across various locations at the Grand Mosque, helping ensure a safe, organized and comfortable environment for pilgrims performing Hajj rituals.
