SBP receives US$ 1 billion from Saudi Arabia

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), on Tuesday, informed that funds of US$ 1 billion have been received from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the second tranche of a recently agreed US$ 3 billion deposit

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Apr, 2026) The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), on Tuesday, informed that funds of US$ 1 billion have been received from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the second tranche of a recently agreed US$ 3 billion deposit.

“State Bank of Pakistan has received funds of US$ 1 billion from Ministry of Finance, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the value date of 20 April 2026,” the central bank confirmed through its social media accounts.

According to the SBP, this is the second tranche of the US$ 3 billion deposit recently agreed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia while the first tranche of US$ 2 billion had already been received on April 15.

The kingdom of Saudi Arabia pledged an additional US$3 bln in deposits for Pakistan and also extended its existing US$ 5bln facility for a further three years in the previous week.
