QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Mar, 2026) Balochistan Chief Secretary (SC) Shakeel Qadir Khan on Monday directed the concerned authorities to make the school admission campaign more effective and faster, especially in rural and remote areas, so that no child is deprived of the right to education.
He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting regarding the school admission campaign for children in the new academic year to achieve target of the drive in the province.
The meeting discussed in detail various suggestions and strategies to increase the enrollment of students in schools across the province, including out-of-school children in the educational stream and reducing the dropout rate.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Education Lal Jan Jaffer, Special Secretary Schools Abdul Salam Achakzai and other concerned officers.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary emphasized that special steps should be taken to provide educational opportunities to such children who are unable to go to school for any reason.
The Chief Secretary directed the concerned authorities to make the school admission campaign more effective and faster, especially in rural and remote areas, so that no child would be deprived of the right to education.
He said the school admission campaign should be run as a regular campaign and monitored at all levels. The Chief Secretary clarified that this campaign was being launched to provide educational inclusion opportunities to children deprived of education in the far flung areas of the province.
During the meeting, the Secretary Schools gave a detailed briefing regarding the educational situation of the province, the statistics of out-of-school children and the performance of the last year’s admission campaign.
He informed that this year the Enrollment Campaign 2026 had been launched across the province, which was initiated by the School Education Department.
The aim was to ensure that every child has access to education and the department has set a provincial enrollment target of 261,012 children for 2026, while the target of 237,000 was successfully achieved last year.
On this occasion, the Chief Secretary also considered various measures to make the admission campaign successful, including organizing an awareness campaign, announcements through mosques, publicity through local media, direct contact with parents and organizing special welcome activities for new students entering schools.
The participants of the meeting expressed their determination that the district administration, the education department and the elected public representatives would jointly take all possible steps to make the school admission campaign a success so that maximum children could be provided with educational opportunities.
In accordance with the vision of the Chief Minister, to ensure the promotion of education, by making educational institutions active and enhancing the capacity of teachers, an admission campaign had been launched at the inception of the new academic year to facilitate maximum number of children with equal educational opportunities.
