Secretary C&W lauds IDSP for playing role in sustainable development of Balochistan

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Apr, 2026) Secretary Communications and Works (C&W) Babar Khan on Tuesday appreciated the efforts of Institute of Development Studies and Practices (IDSP) and said that such institutions play a key role in the sustainable development of the province.

He said this while talking to Founding Director IDSP Dr. Qar-ul-Ain Bakhtiari called on him here to give a detailed briefing on the role, objectives and ongoing activities of the Institute of Development Studies and Practices (IDSP).

During the meeting, Dr. Qar-ul-Ain Bakhtiari highlighted the establishment of the institution, its vision and the steps taken for socio-economic development in Balochistan province.

He said that IDSP is playing an important role in community development, education, research and policy making to highlight the potential of the youth.

The institution is focusing on providing leadership and development opportunities especially to the youth of remote areas.

On this occasion, Secretary Communications and Works Babar Khan appreciated the efforts of IDSP and said that such institutions play a key role in the sustainable development of the province.

He emphasized that there is a need to further promote cooperation between government institutions and educational and research organizations so that better and effective results of development projects could be achieved.

The meeting also discussed how infrastructure development, community engagement and policy level can be improved through mutual cooperation between IDSP and the Department of Communications and Works.

Secretary Babar Khan expressed his determination that in the future, through joint initiatives and collaboration, a more effective role would be played for the development of Balochistan and the welfare of the people.
