KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jul, 2026) On 26 July 2026, in the wake of the upcoming Monsoon spell, Secretary Health, Government of Sindh, Hafeezullah Abbasi, accompanied by Dr. Saqib Ali Shaikh, Director Health Services Karachi, conducted an extensive visit to major tertiary and secondary healthcare facilities across Karachi to review their preparedness for the ongoing rain emergency.
The visit covered Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), Ruthn K.M. Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi, SGH Qatar, SGH New Karachi, SGH Korangi No. 5, and SGH Liaquatabad.
During the visit, the Secretary Health held detailed meetings with the respective Medical Superintendents of the hospitals, administrators and senior medical staff. He reviewed emergency preparedness plans, assessed the availability of medicines, emergency supplies, medical equipment, ambulances, backup power arrangements, and staffing to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services during the rainy season.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Hafeezullah Abbasi directed all hospital administrations to remain on high alert, ensure round-the-clock availability of emergency medical services, maintain adequate stocks of essential medicines and supplies, and strengthen coordination with all relevant departments for an effective response to any rain-related emergencies.
Dr Saqib Ali Shaikh reaffirmed that the Directorate of Health Services Karachi is working in close coordination with all public sector hospitals to ensure timely and quality healthcare services for citizens throughout the monsoon period.
