SIALKOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Sialkot Saba Asghar Ali has imposed Section 144 across the district during the wheat and other Rabi crops harvesting season to prevent disputes between landowners and tenant farmers.
According to a spokesperson for the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, tenant farmers have been stopped from removing crops from fields before paying the due share to the landowner or allottee.
They must also provide a proper receipt after payment to ensure transparency and avoid conflicts.
The order states that harvesting will continue till May, and there is a risk that some farmers may take crops without paying dues, which could lead to fights and disturb law and order.
The deputy commissioner said the order has come into force immediately and will remain in place for two months. Strict legal action will be taken against anyone who violates the orders.
