Security beefed up in DI Khan as anti-polio campaign kicked off

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) The comprehensive security arrangements have been enforced across the district as the anti-polio campaign begins, with District Police Officer (DPO) Ziauddin Ahmed personally inspecting measures at multiple checkpoints.

During his visit, the DPO met with officers and personnel deployed at various security points, reviewing duty protocols, checking procedures, and the overall security environment. He directed officials to carry out their responsibilities with vigilance, professionalism, and a strong sense of duty to ensure a secure atmosphere for polio teams.

Ziauddin Ahmed emphasized that security must be ensured at all costs during the campaign so that vaccination teams can perform their duties without fear, while citizens continue their daily activities without disruption.

He also ordered stricter monitoring at entry and exit points of the city, with enhanced checking of suspicious individuals and vehicles, and immediate response to any unusual activity.

He further instructed authorities to launch a crackdown on vehicles with tinted windows, strictly enforce the ban on pillion riding, and ensure thorough screening of non-local and suspicious individuals.

The DPO directed officers to fully implement the security plan in their respective areas, increase police patrolling, and maintain heightened vigilance at sensitive locations. Reaffirming the department’s commitment, he stated that all necessary steps are being taken to maintain law and order and protect the lives and property of citizens, warning that negligence will not be tolerated.
