Security forces carry out operation to ensure law and order

KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) The security forces carried out a joint search and strike operation in the mountainous belt from Lachi to the Hangu border, targeting criminal elements and suspected militants, the police said on Monday.

The operation was conducted on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Kohat, Shahbaz Elahi, as part of an ongoing campaign against lawlessness and terrorism.

According to police sources, personnel of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), and district police took part in the coordinated action.

SP CTD Sadat Khan supervised the multiple teams.

Drone cameras were used for aerial surveillance in difficult terrain, while ground forces searched routes, hideouts, and other suspected locations, they added.

In a separate action, MRS Police Station conducted targeted raids against proclaimed offenders and their facilitators on the instructions of the DPO.

Acting on intelligence, the police arrested several suspects and seized illegal weapons.

The detainees were shifted to the MRS Police Station for further investigation and legal proceedings.

The operation was led by DSP Headquarters Nazeer Hussain and SHO MRS Police Station Noor Muhammad, with heavy police contingents participating.

The sources said operations against criminals and their facilitators would continue until peace and security are fully restored in the district.
