SED starts planting 1.485m saplings in schools across Punjab

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Apr, 2026) The School education Department (SED) has formally started a plantation campaign in government schools across the province.

According to the SED officials, a total of 1.485 million saplings have been set to be planted in 38,000 schools this year.

According to the details, 3.25 million saplings will be planted in 21,000 Primary schools, 3.30 million saplings in 7,500 middle schools, and 8.

25 million saplings in 9,000 high and higher secondary schools.

According to the instructions, it has been made mandatory to plant 90 saplings in every high school, 45 in middle school and 15 in primary school.

The School Education Department has issued special instructions to all schools for the effective implementation of the tree plantation campaign and has also ordered them to ensure monitoring of this process, so that environmental improvement and the dream of a green Punjab can be made a reality.
