Senior Sport Journalist from Pakistan elected Lifetime Honorary member AIPS

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) President of Pakistan Sports Writers Federation and a distinguished senior sports journalist of the country, Amjad Aziz Malik has been elected as a Lifetime Honorary Member of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS).

According to a press release issued here on Monday, the honor was conferred during the 88th AIPS Congress held in Lausanne, Switzerland, which was attended by representatives from 111 countries around the world.

Alongside Amjad Aziz Malik, five other senior sports journalists from Japan, Spain, Malta, Brazil, and Türkiye were also awarded Lifetime Honorary Membership in recognition of their more than a decade-long services to AIPS.

Amjad Aziz Malik is the first Pakistani in the 102-year history of AIPS to receive this prestigious honor.

This recognition not only acknowledges his personal contributions but also marks a historic milestone for sports journalism in Pakistan.

Secretary of the Pakistan Sports Writers Federation, Muhammad Asghar Azeem, congratulated Amjad Aziz Malik on this remarkable achievement, stating that his selection is a matter of pride for the entire nation, particularly for the sports journalism community.

He added that this honor will further enhance Pakistan’s positive image globally and strengthen its presence in the field of sports journalism.
