MUZAFFARGARH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2026) On the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a unique initiative titled “Sanjhi Sabzi” (Shared Vegetables) was launched in government schools across Muzaffargarh under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Usman Tahir Jappa.
According to education department sources, the project initiated at Government Comprehensive High School Muzaffargarh, where six different types of vegetables were cultivated in the school premises. These included pumpkin, spinach, okra and others.
The project in-charge, while speaking to the media, said that the vegetables grown under the initiative would be distributed free of cost among students, teachers, and residents of the surrounding community.
A school teacher, Abdul Ghaffar Kakar, stated that the project reflected the Chief Minister’s vision of “Sanjhi Sabzi – not just affordable, but free.” He added that vegetable cultivation is being introduced in all government schools across Punjab where land is available, under the monitoring of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Education.
