Sialkot to get first ‘Sahulat on the Go’ market

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) Assistant Commissioner Safdar Shabbir said on Wednesday that Sialkot’s first “Sahulat on the Go” market would be completed within one month at Circular Road, where 34 permanent shops are being constructed at the site of the old cart market.

Speaking during a visit to the under-construction market, he said the project had been launched under a public relief initiative of Maryam Nawaz, adding that essential items would be available at official rates while shops would be allotted to cart vendors through balloting so they could earn their livelihood in a dignified manner.

Meanwhile, he said similar markets were being established in 27 cities across Punjab and had already become operational in different parts of Lahore, where citizens were showing keen interest in shopping.

He further said the administration was also reviewing the possibility of introducing a drive-through shopping facility at the market for the convenience of the public.
