Sindh senior minister praises Zulfiqar Bhutto for nuclear tech

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th May, 2026) The Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on the occasion of Youm-e-Takbeer, credited Pakistan Peoples Party's founding Chairman and former Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto for giving nuclear weapons technology to the country.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, he said May 28 would always be remembered as a momentous day in the history of Pakistan.

"By carrying out nuclear tests, Pakistan showed its defence capabilities to the world besides establishing its sovereignty and self confidence," he observed.

"It is also a day of national prestige, courage and self confidence," Memon added.

He recalled the statement of Bhutto in which he had said the nation was ready to eat grass, but they would make the nuclear bombs without any doubt.

The Senior Minister reiterated that Pakistan was a peace-loving country, but it also possessed full capability for its defence.
