MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) intensified its drive against gas theft, illegal usage, and technical violations and disconnected six more meters.
The UFG Control Task Force carried out a series of operations in various areas of Multan to ensure safe and uninterrupted gas supply to consumers.
During the latest enforcement action, the task force inspected 60 locations.
According to details, one meter which was taken off by consumer recovered. One meter which was installed upside down removed.
Likewise, four meters were disconnected for using compressors for getting gas illegally.
The objective of these operations was not only to curb gas theft but also to improve gas pressure, ensure uninterrupted supply, and promptly address public complaints.
SNGPL officials stated that illegal practices adversely affect system performance and pose serious safety risks to the public.
Speaking on the occasion, the General Manager SNGPL Multan emphasized that the safety of consumers’ lives and properties was top priority of the organization. He advised consumers to always remain vigilant and ensure that there is no gas leakage before use. In case of any gas smell, consumers should immediately open all doors and windows and avoid switching on any gas or electric appliances.
The General Manager further reiterated that indiscriminate action against gas theft and illegal activities will continue to ensure the provision of safe, reliable, and continuous gas supply to all consumers.
