SPA gets time till June 30 to rehabilitate 5,000 water filtration plants

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Apr, 2026) In a meeting chaired by Provincial Minister for Housing Bilal Yasin, Saaf Pani Authority (SPA) has been given time till June 30 to rehabilitate more than 5,000 water filtration plants, while it has also been decided to establish Saaf Pani Authority Complex and District Complaint Centers.

According to the details, important decisions have been taken in the meeting chaired by Provincial Minister for Housing Bilal Yasin.

The meeting reviewed the ongoing projects in the districts, monitoring framework proposals at the tehsil level, while it has been proposed to increase the budget in the next financial year for the construction of small dams.

CEO Saaf Pani Authority (SPA) gave a briefing on the details of ongoing projects. It was decided in the meeting that complaint centers will be set up in the Saaf Pani Authority complex and districts, while the Saaf Pani Authority has been given time till June 30 to rehabilitate more than 5,000 water filtration plants.

On this occasion, Punjab Housing Minister Bilal Yasin said that the mechanism for effective supply of bottled water will be further improved and made feasible, while no room for delay in public convenience projects will be tolerated.

He further said that a solid mechanism will be formed for the assured supply of clean water at the tehsil level.
