SPAL holds Labour Day rally to honour sanitation workers

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st May, 2026) The Suthra Punjab Agency Lahore (SPAL) on Friday organized a rally to pay tribute to sanitation workers on the occasion of Labour Day, recognizing their vital role in maintaining cleanliness across the city.

The rally, held at Liberty Chowk under the theme “Our Workers, Our Heroes,” was led by Suthra Punjab operational teams.

Suthra Punjab officers and sanitation workers participated, expressing a strong commitment to their professional responsibilities.

Participants lauded the services of sanitation staff, describing them as the true heroes of society whose contributions often go unnoticed.

To mark Labour Day, advance salary payments were also ensured for sanitation workers.

Suthra Punjab Authority DG Babar Sahib Din said that the welfare of workers remains a top priority under the Suthra Punjab programme. He said, “Our workers are our real heroes, and their services cannot be overlooked under any circumstances.”

He further stated that the Punjab government is ensuring the provision of social security cards, ration cards, and other facilities to improve the quality of life of sanitation workers.

Meanwhile, Suthra Punjab’s awareness teams also conveyed a message of shared responsibility among citizens to promote a clean and healthy environment.
