SRSO & District Admin Launches Initiatives in Shikarpur's Marginalized Area

SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Apr, 2026) The Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO), in collaboration with the District Administration Shikarpur, has launched a series of initiatives in Garhi Tegho, a highly affected and marginalized area of Taluka Khanpur. The efforts aim to promote awareness, social mobilization, and community development, with a focus on education.

A community event was organized on Thursday, attended by Assistant Commissioner Khanpur Ayaz Mashori, Mukhtiarkar Khanpur Zafar Indhar, SRSO District Manager, Senior Manager SRSO Naimatullah Shaikh and other stakeholders.

The event featured the distribution of educational materials to students, a community dialogue on SRSO's projects, and the formation of a women-led Community Organization (CO) and Village Organization (VO) to strengthen local participation in development.

Additionally, resilient housing construction under the Sindh Poverty Reduction and Human Development Project (SPHF) was carried out and NADRA and PPHI camps were set up to provide services to the community.

The event highlighted ongoing activities and reinforced collective efforts to improve the socio economic conditions of the area with strong community engagement and stakeholder participation.
