Steps being taken to enhance capacity of police for better law & order in Balochistan: IGP Tahir

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Apr, 2026) Inspector General Police (IGP) Balochistan Muhammad Tahir on Thursday said measures were being taken to enhance capacity of police on modern lines for improving law and order situation in respective areas of the province.

He said departmental development and increase in rank was an important part of police officials career and reflected the surge in their responsibilities, it is the responsibility of the supervisory officers to get better performance from the subordinate staff. The promoted officers would play their commanding role more diligently and would be able to perform the better responsibility to protect the life and property of the public.

He expressed these views while speaking at the ceremony held at the Central Police Office regarding the pinning of badges on police officers Naveed Alam and Sher Ali, who were promoted to the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP).

On this occasion, Inspector General (IG) of Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir and Additional IG Police Agha Muhammad Yusuf pinned badges on the two officers promoted to SSP rank.

Sharing his remarks IG Police Balochistan said according to the guidelines of smart and community policing, all available resources should be used to provide services to the citizens and eradicate crimes and provide immediate relief to the citizens in accordance with the modern policing system and cooperation with the common citizens while strengthening the positive identity of the police and highlighting the sense of security.

IG Police Balochistan congratulated the promoted officers on their departmental advancement.

Additional IG and Commandant BC Ashfaq Ahmed, Additional IG Javed Ali Mehr, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Headquarters Hasan Asad Alvi, DIG Quetta Imran Shaukat, DIG Finance Sohail Ahmed Sheikh, DIG Special Branch Tahir Alauddin, DIG Teleshad bin Masih, DIG CTD Aetzaz Ahmed Goraya, Deputy Commissioner Quetta Mehrullah Badeni and Director Federal Investigation Agency Balochistan Bahram Khan Mandukhel were also present in the ceremony.
