Storm disrupts power supply in Lachi subdivision

KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd May, 2026) A severe windstorm and thunderstorm that struck the Kohat region late Saturday night caused significant damage to electricity infrastructure in Lachi Subdivision, leading to a major power outage.

According to officials, electricity supply from the 132KV Lachi feeder was completely suspended after the storm damaged key installations.

Emergency response teams were immediately deployed to assess the situation and begin restoration work.

Authorities said technical staff are working round the clock to repair the affected system and restore power as soon as possible. Efforts are underway using all available resources to minimize inconvenience to consumers in the affected areas.

Officials added that the situation is being closely monitored, and power supply will be resumed once the repair work is completed and the system is declared safe for operation.
