Strict monitoring of petroleum products supply, hoarding ordered

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Mar, 2026) A high-level meeting, with Commissioner Aamir Karim Khan in the chair was held to review the monitoring of petroleum products and assess measures to ensure uninterrupted supply and market stability amid the prevailing situation.

During the meeting, the commissioner directed the authorities concerned to maintain strict vigilance over the availability of petroleum products, particularly in the context of a war-like environment. He stressed that any attempts to hoard fuel or create artificial shortages would be dealt with firmly.

Reiterating a zero-tolerance policy, Aamir Karim Khan warned that overpricing and under-measurement would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

He instructed officials to take immediate and strict action against violators to protect public interest.

The commissioner further directed that comprehensive and verified data regarding petrol pumps, supply, and demand be compiled at district and sub-division levels. He also ordered continuous daily monitoring of the supply and consumption of petrol, diesel, and high-octane fuel.

Additionally, he called for strict oversight of the supply chains of oil marketing companies and made it mandatory for Deputy Commissioners to submit daily reports on the overall situation.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioners and officials from relevant departments.
