Strict warning against non-payment of property tax, orders to seal 31000 properties

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Apr, 2026) It has been decided to tighten the noose against those who do not pay property tax.

Strict action will be taken against big defaulters in Lahore after April 10, orders have been issued to seal 31000 commercial properties.

According to Director Excise Ahmed Saeed, despite giving final notices to the owners of commercial properties, the tax has not been paid, all inspectors and ETOs have been ordered to seal all defaulters' properties after April 10, more than 500 million dues have not been paid by the defaulters.

Moreover, some commercial properties have been sealed, while seizure of property (attachment) notices are also being issued to residential property tax defaulters.

According to Director Excise Ahmed Saeed, Region-B has collected property tax worth Rs7 billion in the first nine months of the current fiscal year.

Out of the Punjab-wide property tax target of Rs33 billion, Region-B has to collect Rs9 billion. More than Rs22 billion has been collected in property tax across Punjab so far. Inspectors and ETOs who do not achieve the target will also be removed from their posts.
