DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Mar, 2026) The district administration conducted a major crackdown against substandard sweets and poor hygiene conditions, imposing fines on several shopkeepers and sealing a factory.
In this regard, according to the administration, on the directives of the provincial government, a special team led by Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Iftikhar Ahmed, along with officials from the Halal Food Authority, conducted detailed inspections of bakeries and confectionery kitchens in various parts of the city.
During the operation, strict checks were carried out to assess cleanliness and compliance with hygiene standards.
According to officials, strict action was taken against those maintaining unhygienic kitchen conditions, and heavy fines were imposed.
In addition, one factory was sealed on the spot, while approximately 140 kilograms of substandard and unsafe sweets were destroyed.
A total fine of Rs 110,000 was imposed for various violations. Shopkeepers were strongly directed to ensure full compliance with cleanliness, hygiene standards, and prescribed SOPs, failing which, further strict legal action would be taken.
The district administration made it clear that substandard food and poor sanitation would not be tolerated under any circumstances, and such operations will continue regularly to safeguard public health.
