TANK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Apr, 2026) The Tank police have carried out a major crackdown on drug trafficking, seizing over 5.9 kilograms of hashish and arresting two suspects, including a woman, along with another individual held for illegal possession of weapons.
According to police spokesman, the Tank police, led by District Police Officer Abdul Samad Khan, have adopted a zero-tolerance policy against narcotics to eliminate drug-related activities from the district. Acting on a tip-off during polio duty, a police team led by DSP City Imran Khattak and SHO City Police Station Sher Afzal Khan Kundi set up a checkpoint on Station Road.
During the operation, the police apprehended Khan Muhammad, son of Haibat Khan, a resident of Kirri Ahmad Shah, and recovered 1,187 grams of hashish from his possession.
In a separate search conducted by a lady constable, 4,765 grams of hashish packed in four packets were recovered from a female suspect, identified as Sherina Bibi, wife of Naeem Khan, a resident of Mohalla Sheikhawala.
Both suspects were arrested on the spot and shifted to the police station.
The police have registered separate cases against them.
In another action, the police arrested a suspect identified as Riaz, son of Mumtaz, a resident of Ali Khel, and recovered a pistol along with five rounds of ammunition from his possession.
DPO Abdul Samad Khan appreciated the performance of the police team and directed officials to further intensify operations against drug dealers and criminal elements to rid society of this menace.
