Teenager killed in knife attack, police start investigation

BHAKKAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jun, 2026) The police launched an investigation into the killing of a 14-year-old boy who was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon in the Mankera area, the official sources said on Monday.

The victim, identified as Salman was allegedly killed by unidentified assailants who fled the scene after the attack, the police said.

Deputy Superintendent, Police (DSP) Mankera, Nasir Mahmood Khan, and the station house officer (SHO), Mankera police station arrived at the scene with a heavy police contingent shortly after receiving information about the incident.

The police cordoned off the area and began collecting evidence.

The forensic experts and investigators had initiated inquiries to determine the circumstances surrounding the killing, they added.

The police said all aspects of the case were being examined and special teams had been formed to trace and arrest the culprits.

District Police Officer (DPO) Shehzad Rafiq Awan said the investigation would be conducted in a transparent, impartial and merit-based manner.

He pledged that the responsible would be arrested and brought to justice, while assuring the victim's family of full legal support and efforts to ensure justice.
