SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jun, 2026) The Punjab Food Authority(PFA) on Saturday sealed three food production units and imposed a Rs.300,000 fine on another outlet during a crackdown on food safety violations in different parts of Sialkot.
The operation was carried out under the directions of Director General(DG),Syed Musa Raza and supervised by Additional Director General (Operations) Asad Ullah.
According to a Food Authority spokesperson,inspection teams visited food businesses in Gohadpur,Imam Sahib and Daska Industrial Estate,where they detected the use of expired and banned ingredients,poor sanitation,insect infestation and unhygienic food processing practices.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The authority disposed of large quantities of expired and substandard food ingredients on the spot and ordered corrective measures against the violators.
Speaking on the occasion,Asad Ullah said the authority was maintaining a zero-tolerance policy towards food adulteration and other violations that posed risks to public health.
He added that strict action would continue against businesses failing to comply with food safety regulations.
The official also appealed to the public to report food adulteration and illegal food businesses through the Food Authority's helpline,1223.
