Three killed, 14 sustain injuries as cylinder explodes in rickshaw

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Apr, 2026) Three people were killed,while 14 others injured when an LPG cylinder exploded in a moving rickshaw on Muzaffargarh Road near Pull Ashiqabad, Rescue 1122 said on Sunday.

The injured, many with severe burns, were shifted after first aid to Nishtar Hospital Multan.

According to Rescue officials, the rickshaw was travelling from Nag Shah Chowk to Bahawalpur Chowk, carrying around passengers, when the cylinder suddenly exploded, triggering a fire.

The flames engulfed the vehicle within moments, causing panic and leaving passengers badly burned.

Rescue teams and fire units reached the spot promptly, extinguished the fire, and launched relief operations under the supervision of District Emergency Officer Dr. Hussain Mian.

The affected family was travelling from Qureshi Chowk, (Muzaffargarh), to Multan.

Police also reached the scene and started an investigation, while rescue teams continued operations.
