Three killed, two injured as speeding rickshaw overturns

MIRPUR (AJK) , (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news - 27th Apr, 2026) Three people on Monday were killed and two others seriously injured after an over-speeding rickshaw overturned while negotiating a sharp bend on the Mirpur–Chechiyan road , the police said.

The bodies were identified as Rickshaw driver, Rashid Riaz along with Murshid, and Irshaad Bibi.

The injured included Allah Ditta and Perveen Bibi.

They were immediately shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Mirpur.

Local residents said the bend at Lakha Singh Mor has been the site of multiple accidents in the past. They described it as a “deadly turn” and warned that more lives could be at risk if urgent safety measures were not taken.
