MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Apr, 2026) Another three deeds writers were arrested and millions of rupees were recovered after a mega fake registry scandal was unearthed, officials said. The action was launched by the Anti Corruption Establishment Punjab against fake deeds writers.
The crackdown continued on the directions of Director General Sohail Zafar Chatta, according to a release issued on Thursday. The surveillance team carried out the operation under the supervision of Regional Director Bisharat Nabi.
The scandal came to light when Commissioner Amir Karim Khan paid a surprise visit to the Sub-Registrar office a few days ago.
It was revealed that some deeds writers were involved in preparing fake registries in connivance with local people.
The Anti-Corruption team arrested the three accused identified as Musarrat Abbas, Khwaja Shariq and Hafiz Huzaifa and registered case number 1917/25. According to officials, a total of Rs12.2 million has so far been recovered from the accused arrested during the operation, while more than 500 fake registrations have been taken into custody.
Anti-Corruption officials vowed that action against criminal mafias would continue, adding that further arrests and recoveries are expected.
