PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd May, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control, Syed Fakhar Jehan, on Sunday formally inaugurated the newly purchased modern sanitation machinery for the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) Gagra, District Buner.
The initiative, costing Rs. 25 million, has been launched to enhance cleanliness and sanitation services at the tehsil level. Under this initiative, modern vehicles and sanitation machinery have been procured to ensure an efficient, timely and improved waste management system in the area.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by TMO Amir Alam Khan, Ahmed Khan (brother of PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan), former Speaker Tehsil Gagra Waqar-ul-Mulk Khan and Qaiser Ali Advocate, among others.
Addressing the ceremony, Minister Syed Fakhar Jehan said that the present government is committed to accelerating development across the province in line with the principles of public service, transparency and good governance.
He said the initiative reflects the strengthening of the local government system and is a practical manifestation of providing basic civic amenities at the doorstep of citizens in line with the vision of PTI founder Imran Khan.
The minister added that the provision of modern sanitation machinery to TMA Gagra marks a significant milestone that will greatly improve the efficiency, organization and sustainability of the sanitation system.
He noted that the availability of modern related machinery will ensure timely collection and safe disposal of solid waste, leading to a noticeable improvement in urban cleanliness and public health standards.
Syed Fakhar Jehan further stated that public service and welfare remain the top priority of the provincial government and development initiatives are being expanded to ensure equal access to civic facilities for all citizens. He reiterated that such projects will continue in the constituency to strengthen service delivery.
He also emphasized that the initiative would contribute to reducing environmental pollution, protecting public health and promoting a cleaner and healthier society.
Reaffirming his commitment, the minister said that the government will continue to enhance transparency, accountability and efficient service delivery to ensure public welfare through sustained development interventions.
