GILGIT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Jun, 2026) A tourist jeep carrying visitors to Fairy Meadows met with a serious accident on the Tattu Raikot Road in Diamer district on Monday afternoon when it reportedly plunged into a deep ravine and was swept away by the Tattu stream.
According to initial reports, the accident occurred at around 3:00 pm. The vehicle, bearing registration number GLT-1335, was carrying tourists along with the driver when it fell into the gorge. All occupants, including the driver were reported missing till the filing of this report.
The driver has been identified as Ziaullah, a resident of Darel, District Diamer.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Police said that two tourists belonged to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and four were from Punjab. The tourists from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been identified as Ali and Sajjad.
Police and rescue teams rushed to the scene immediately after the incident and launched a search and rescue operation to locate the missing persons.
Authorities said rescue efforts were continuing, while further details would be shared as the operation progresses.
According to a spokesperson for Gilgit-Baltistan Police, all available resources have been mobilized to assist in the rescue operation.
