SUKKUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jun, 2026) The Sukkur Small Traders Association on Saturday welcomed the Federal budget’s decision to exempt small traders from “super tax”, calling it a business-friendly and relief-oriented move that would help sustain economic activity across the country.

Association President Haji Haroon Memon on Saturday said the introduction of a fixed tax regime would bring major relief to small shopkeepers by simplifying tax procedures, ensuring predictability in payments and reducing compliance burdens.

“Such reforms will ease financial pressure on small businesses and strengthen overall market stability,” he added.

Ghareeb Abad Shopkeeper Association President Lala Abid Kokhar said the new system would make daily operations smoother and lower financial stress for traders.

Another shopkeeper noted that fixed taxation would bring clarity and consistency to routine business matters.

The traders’ representatives said supportive tax policies would encourage small businesses to expand and contribute more actively to the local economy. “Policies that back traders will boost confidence in the business community and improve economic activity at the grassroots level,” they said.

Builder and developer Mir Ahmed Mengal also hailed the exemption, terming it a pro-business step that would stimulate economic activity and strengthen the trading sector. He said the fixed tax system would simplify compliance for small shopkeepers, reduce financial pressure and improve transparency in tax collection, contributing to greater stability in the business environment.
