Traffic accident prevention: DIG traffic issues letter

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Apr, 2026) DIG Traffic has issued strict orders to prevent accidents across Punjab.

DIG Traffic has issued a letter to all district officers.

In a letter issued to officers by DIG Traffic, it has been ordered to cancel the licenses of drivers involved in fatal accidents, while it has been urged to register cases against drivers involved in unlicensed accidents.

The letter has ordered officers to deploy additional personnel in areas where accidents are frequent, stop and issue challans to vehicles for one-way violations, while action should be taken against those who do not wear helmets and seat belts.

The letter issued by the DIG Traffic also orders that strict action should be taken against officers who use mobile phones while traveling and that lane restrictions be imposed to ensure traffic flow.
