Traffic constable suspended over misconduct with citizen

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jun, 2026) Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi took immediate notice of an incident involving alleged misconduct by a traffic constable towards a van driver and ordered the suspension of the official concerned.

According to a spokesman on Tuesday, the CTO directed SP Saddar to conduct a detailed inquiry into the incident and submit a report.

Shirazi said that further action would be taken in light of the findings of the inquiry. He emphasised that no compromise would be made on courteous behaviour and respectful treatment of citizens.

The CTO said that discipline within the traffic police force and respect for the public remained top priorities of the department. He added that misuse of authority would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

He further said that the facts of the case would be made public upon completion of the inquiry.
