Traffic Police suspends 110 licenses over violations

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jul, 2026) The City Traffic Police Lahore on Sunday suspended the driving licences of 110 motorists as part of a strict crackdown on traffic violations and road accidents aimed at improving road safety and enforcing traffic laws.

According to a spokesperson, the action was taken on the directions of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore, under which the driving license of any motorist involved in a fatal or serious non-fatal traffic accident will be suspended immediately.

The CTO said motorists found driving despite having a suspended license would face criminal proceedings, with a case to be registered against them.

He added that licenses of drivers found guilty of reckless or irresponsible driving would remain suspended for at least one year.

He said drivers held responsible for traffic accidents would not only face suspension of their licenses but would also be dealt with under the relevant legal provisions.

The City Traffic Police said the initiative was aimed at ensuring effective implementation of traffic laws, promoting responsible driving behaviour, and safeguarding the lives and property of citizens.
