Traffic rules violations: Action taken against 1469 loaders, Chingchi rickshaws on Canal Road

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st May, 2026) Entry of loaders and Chingchi rickshaws is banned on Canal Road. Action was taken against 1469 rickshaws by the traffic police.

In view of the protection of life and property of citizens, entry of rickshaws was banned on Canal Road.

Action was taken against 1143 rickshaws and 326 loader rickshaws for violation in two days.

Action was also taken against 419 vehicles for violation of one-way traffic on Canal Road. Additional personnel were deployed to prevent entry of loaders and rickshaws on Canal Road.

CTO Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi said that loader rickshaws load in an extremely dangerous manner, that iron pipes loaded on loader rickshaws are extremely dangerous for other traffic, and that rickshaws on Canal Road cause chaotic traffic.
