Traffic suspended on Karakoram Highway due to landslides

Karakoram Highway has closed at three points due to continues rains in various areas of the Shangla on Tuesday

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th May, 2026) Karakoram Highway has closed at three points due to continues rains in various areas of the Shangla on Tuesday.

According to details, the Karakoram highway has been suspended for traffic in Jeejal and Patan due to flooding in local streams, creating problems for travelers.

The road has also been closed due to landslides in areas of Khidarnala and Sablomor.

The closure has affected traffic, while reports have poured in about damage to vehicles travelling on road.

Meanwhile, local administration and National Highway Authority have started work to reopen the road for traffic and to evacuate people stranded on roads due to closure.

People have also been urged to avoid unnecessary travelling and acquire information about the road situation before starting a journey.
