Truck driver's body found in canal

The dead body of a truck driver, whose vehicle drowned in Phuleli Canal after breaking fences of bridge on Hyderabad bypass road, was found a day after the incident

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Apr, 2026) The dead body of a truck driver, whose vehicle drowned in Phuleli Canal after breaking fences of bridge on Hyderabad bypass road, was found a day after the incident.

The local diver pulled out the body of Barkatullah Pathan from the canal and later conveyed that update to Rescue 1122, an official informed.

According to the official, the search for the missing body had lasted for around 8 hours from Thursday evening till 2 am on Friday.

But, he said, the search was halted due to late night.

The truck's other driver, 42 years old Dilawar Khan, was injured in the accident.

Rescue 1122 timely pulled him out from the truck, which was transporting goods from Karachi to Matiari district, and shifted him to Liaquat University Hospital where he was said to be recovering.

The dead body was also later shifted to the LUH for medico legal formalities.
