Twin City Women’s Baseball Series to begin on May 18

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) The Chief Minister Punjab Twin City Women’s Baseball Series will get underway on May 18 in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, featuring a five-match contest between the women’s teams of the twin cities.

According to Secretary General of the Pakistan Federation Baseball (PFB), Tahir Mahmood, the series is being organized by the Youth education and sports (YES) Welfare Society Rawalpindi in collaboration with the Islamabad Baseball Association.

He termed the initiative a significant step forward in promoting and strengthening women’s baseball in the country.

He said dedicated training camps would be set up for both Rawalpindi and Islamabad teams to ensure quality competition.

The camps will also serve as selection trials for the Islamabad squad for the upcoming Women’s National Baseball Championship, as well as for the YES team preparing for an international tour of Malaysia.

Tahir Mahmood added that the Pakistan Federation Baseball would closely supervise the entire process to maintain transparency and merit.

In this regard, a joint meeting between officials of the federation and YES Welfare Society will be held on Thursday at the Shahbaz Sharif Sports Complex, Rawalpindi, where technical and administrative committees for the series will be constituted.
