PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jun, 2026) Rescue teams on Sunday recovered two more bodies from the River Panjkora during a joint operation conducted by Rescue 1122 Lower Dir and Rescue 1122 Malakand water rescue units.
According to officials from Rescue 1122, the body of a child named Abbas, a resident of Bajaur was found after ten days from the Bosaq area of the river.
In a separate recovery, the body of Qari Shahidullah who belonged to Warai, Dir Upper was also retrieved from the river.
Rescue authorities stated that since Eid a total of ten people have lost their lives in various drowning incidents in the rivers Swat and Panjkora.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Officials have once again urged the public to avoid bathing in rivers, as well as taking selfies or making TikTok videos near or in fast-flowing waters, warning that such activities are extremely dangerous.
Rescue teams also emphasized that even minor negligence near riverbanks can lead to fatal accidents, urging citizens to exercise extreme caution, especially during the current season when water currents are strong.
