Two robbers recaptured after police encounter

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Mar, 2026) Police successfully re-arrested two notorious robbers,Aftab alias Tabi and Saleem alias Saleemi, following an armed encounter in the area under Buchiana Police Station.

According to police spokesman,Sub-Inspector Sardar was transporting the suspects for recovery when four armed accomplices on two motorcycles attacked the police party near Chak No. 658/9-GB.

The assailants opened fire, freed the suspects and fled the scene.

Sohail,along with a reinforced police team,chased the outlaws and tracked them near Pul Jagatan Beeri Mor.

When the police ordered them to surrender,the criminals opened fire again.

Police returned fire in self-defense and during the encounter,both fugitives were injured by bullets fired by their own accomplices, while the others escaped under the cover of darkness.

The injured suspects were immediately re-arrested and shifted to a hospital for treatment.

A special police team has been tasked with locating and apprehending the escaped attackers.

Police said both Aftab and Saleem were among the district’s most wanted criminals.

Records show Saleem alias Saleemi was involved in 69 cases,while Aftab alias Tabi had a record of 33 cases,the spokesman added.
