Two suspects with criminal records arrested in separate police encounter

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Jun, 2026) Two suspects with extensive criminal records were arrested in injured condition during separate police encounters in the Shahdara and Ravi Road areas while illegal weapons were also recovered from their possession,police said on Saturday.

According to police,a Shahdara police team was conducting routine patrol when officers signalled three suspicious individuals to stop.

However,the suspects allegedly opened fire on the police party and attempted to flee.

Police retaliated,resulting in one suspect sustaining injuries and being taken into custody while his two accomplices managed to escape from the scene.

In a separate incident,Ravi Road police signalled two motorcyclists to stop near Batti Chowk.

Police said the suspects attempted to flee but lost control of their motorcycle due to excessive speed and fell on the road.

One of the suspects,identified as Zain Khalid, was arrested in an injured condition and shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.

During initial investigations,police found that the arrested suspects were allegedly involved in more than 30 cases, including robbery,kidnapping and theft.

According to the SP City, illegal weapons were recovered from the possession of the arrested suspects.

Police have launched further investigations to trace their absconding accomplices and uncover the wider network allegedly involved in criminal activities.
