ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Apr, 2026) Two young girls lost their lives after a wall collapsed in the Langrial area of Abbottabad, as the district continues to reel from heavy rains that have now claimed at least eight lives.
The tragic incident occurred within the limits of Nara Police Station in Mohalla Terri, where the rear wall of a house gave way, burying the two children under the debris.
The deceased have been identified as Nayab, daughter of Saifur Rehman, aged approximately 14 years, and Fatima, daughter of Saifur Rehman, aged approximately 10 years.
In the same incident, Saifur Rehman son of Akbar Khan, Asima wife of Saifur Rehman, and Tayyaba daughter of Saifur Rehman sustained injuries and were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
According to district authorities, with this latest tragedy, the overall rain-related death toll in Abbottabad has risen to eight, while dozens of people have sustained injuries in various weather-related incidents across the district as persistent rainfall continues to cause damage.
Upon receiving information, SHO Nara Police Station Tanveer Khan, along with his police team, arrived at the scene promptly and, together with rescue teams, initiated relief operations.
The process of removing debris and extracting the injured is ongoing, while the area has been cordoned off and preventive measures are being taken to avert any further risks.
Authorities have urged citizens to exercise caution and avoid dilapidated structures, while rescue and relief operations remain in full swing across the district.
