US-based digital rights group urges legal action in India over blocking Kashmiri activist’s account

MIRPUR (AJK) , (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news - 19th Mar, 2026) A Washington-based digital rights organization has advised a Kashmiri activist to pursue legal action in India following the blocking of his social media account.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) responded to concerns raised by U.S.

-based Kashmiri political and peace activist Raja Muzaffar, Acting Chairman , Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front, over restrictions placed on his account on the platform X.

In a message shared with media , the EFF acknowledged the issue and recommended that Muzaffar seek legal counsel within India as an initial step to challenge the restriction. The group added it remained open to further engagement if local legal remedies prove ineffective.
