VC focuses strong roles of universities in promoting culture, academic exchange among nations

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) Vice Chancellor of Federal urdu University of Arts, Sciences and Technology (FUUAST), Professor Dr Zabta Khan Shinwari (Tamgha-e- Imtiaz, Sitara-e- Imtiaz), focused on strong role of universities in promoting culture and academic exchange programmes among nations.

He made these remarks on Wednesday, while addressing an international conference in Kazan, Russia through a virtual session. He said that the future of relations between Pakistan and Russia is very promising and that it will benefit the people, scholars, and especially students.

In his keynote speech, he thanked the administration of Kazan Federal University, for providing an important platform to Pakistani researchers and scholars.

The Vice Chancellor further said that Russia is a great country where Muslim culture is respected, and that the joint academic and research efforts of both universities will help strengthen diplomatic and cultural ties between Pakistan and Russia.

He added that the Kazan Forum can contribute to global peace, as it brings together brilliant minds from different countries, including Pakistan and Russia.

Professor Dr. Zabta Khan Shinwari acknowledged the Russian government and the Rector of Kazan Federal University for their support and hospitality.

It is worth mentioning that a joint conference organized by Federal Urdu University Islamabad and Kazan Federal University is currently underway and will continue until May 17. A delegation of teachers from FUUAST, led by Head of the Departments of International Relations and Mass Communication, Dr Faisal Javaid is present in Russia. Teachers, researchers and vice chancellors from different universities of Pakistan are also participating in the conference and presenting their research papers.
