FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Apr, 2026) Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA) has taken a major step to provide immediate relief to citizens on water supply and sewerage complaints by digitizing its operations.

WASA spokesman said here on Friday that this initiative has been launched as part of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz’s vision of transforming urban centers into smart cities by ensuring efficient public service delivery through modern technology.

Under this program, all WASA bodies in Punjab have been integrated into a centralized digital system for improving response time and service quality, he added.

He said that in this regard, a meeting was also held under the chairmanship of Director General Punjab WASA Tayyab Fareed and Managing Directors of all WASAs across the province through video link joined it. Managing Director WASA Faisalabad Saqib Raza along with other senior officers also participated in the meeting.

During session, a detailed briefing was given on the newly introduced centralized mobile application developed by Punjab WASA.

The participants were informed that the citizens can now register complaints related to water supply and sewerage services through the mobile app, ensuring a more accessible and transparent complaint management system.

During meeting, the DG WASA Punjab said that this app would also facilitate citizens in applying for new water supply connections digitally. The complaints regarding missing manhole covers can be lodged through this app while the issues related to billing and payments would also be addressed promptly via digital platform.

Highlighting the local implementation, Managing Director WASA Faisalabad said that the city’s helpline and online portal have been successfully linked with the centralized system.

The citizens of Faisalabad can now access WASA services through the Android application as well as the Punjab WASA web portal to register complaints and track their resolution, he added.

He further emphasized that the smart city vision is being actively implemented to ensure prompt relief to citizens facing water supply, sewerage and related issues.

He reiterated that, in accordance with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister, the complaints from the public would be addressed on a priority basis to enhance service delivery and public satisfaction.

The digital transformation of WASA services is expected to significantly improve efficiency, transparency and accountability, marking a major step towards modern urban governance in Punjab, WASA spokesman added.
