WASA MD orders quick completion of development projects

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Apr, 2026) Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Managing Director Ghufran Ahmad on Saturday directed that the pace of development projects be accelerated and their timely completion ensured at all costs.

He presided over an online review meeting in which important directions were issued to further expedite development projects and sanitation operations.

During the meeting, a detailed review was conducted of the ongoing development schemes under the Lahore Development Program Phase II, as well as the performance of field operations. All directors and XENs participated via webinar and gave briefings on the progress of projects in their respective towns.

The meeting was informed that 94% of the work on the Lahore Development Program Phase II had been completed, and the project had entered its final stage.

WASA MD Ghufran Ahmad stated that the provision of the best drainage facilities to citizens was the top priority of the organization.

He directed that desilting operations be carried out effectively according to the set schedule.

He also emphasized the need for regular cleaning of roadside drains and continuous monitoring of the condition of manhole covers.

The meeting further stressed that no delay in addressing public complaints would be tolerated under any circumstances.

The MD directed field officers to personally supervise and ensure the immediate and effective resolution of complaints so that citizens do not face any inconvenience.
